ICOSS 2025
Theme: “Transformation, resilience, inclusion and saving the planet”
The theme of the 12th edition of the International Conference on Social Sciences (ICOSS) is “Transformation, resilience, inclusion and saving the planet.” As the climate crisis worsens and threatens humanity and the planet, communities around the world are facing the challenge of adapting to the environmental, social, economic, health, political and technological impacts. How do we transform our communities to adapt? How do we build up resilience to ensure sustainability and the survival of our communities and future generations? Social scientists play a very important role in researching, framing policies, discussing and thinking deeply about these questions.
Using interdisciplinary insights and methodologies to address contemporary issues related to climate crisis Such as food security, water security, inequity, marginalization, poor health, lost opportunities, loss and damage, environmental destruction, etc., are becoming more urgent. For instance, one in three people globally face water scarcity; marginalized groups, such as women and children, are disproportionately affected, underscoring the need for inclusive solutions; this brings up the necessity to advocate for inclusive policies that balance environmental protection with social equity.
The conference theme provides room to raise awareness, execute innovative actions, advocate policies, and empower communities to take more pragmatic solutions to tackle global concerns to build a sustainable and resilient society.
